Differential scanning calorimetry

Differential scanning calorimetry – DSC – to evaluate re- and destructure-effects of hair.

By determinig the melting curve of hair up to pyrolysis, we can draw conclusions about re- or destructuring effects of hair, given by treatments or environmental influences. This method can be performed as Standard-DSC or HP-DSC.
In HP-DSC, the measurement works in a water-medium to exclude hydrogen bridge bonds and salt bridges.
